Pedestrian killed crossing the Boulevard

Police suspect that drunk driving was a factor in an automobile crash that claimed the life of a 23-year-old man who was walking across Roosevelt Boulevard in Lower Mayfair on Friday night.

It happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. on the 6300 block of the Boulevard at Bustleton Avenue. A woman, 52, was driving a 2013 Nissan Rogue northbound in the outer lanes when she struck the pedestrian in the intersection. Police believe that the motorist had a green light and that the victim attempted to cross the street against a red light. The driver remained at the scene for the arrival of emergency responders.
